Grammy-award winning Ozomatli formed in 1995 in Southern California and the U.S-Mexico border region. Their hybrid sound includes dominating traces of ska, hip-hop and reggae, influenced by the region’s multicultural influences. Core members Asdru Sierra, Raul Pacheco, Justin Poree, Wil-dog Abers Jiro Yamaguchi and Ulises Bella continue to headline practically all of the major music festivals in the U.S., and have openly voiced support for such political causes as the repeal of Arizona’s SB-1070 law and gay rights by performing at protests and rallies. Ozomatli were recently named Cultural Ambassadors by the U.S. State Department.
