We met this lovely lady just last year before she departed from Brooklyn’s punky electro rock Zigmat, also formerly of Pacha Massive. I suspect singer-songwriter Monica Rodriguez is a long time friend with the good folks of Nacional Records, where not only Zigmat righteously earned LAMC’s Artist Discover award back in 2009 due to the bands cool hypnotic sound, but as of latest, Monica ventures on a new solo career reincarnating as Monica Lionheart, who is now signed to the mentioned label.

Today, the talented songstress releases her solo debut, Indian Summer. I’ll be the first to say that it’ll make ya yearn for a trip to the desert, in a romantic way, holding hands with your lover, semi nude. And “Escape Strategy”, premiering also today, totally lives up to its name; it will transport you to a bright summertime place with bewitching keyboard lines and seductively synthesized vocals. She stands in cool contrast to the warmth exuded by Brooklyn’s landscapes.

And in courtesy of Nacional, you also get one of her tunes free, “Relámpago.” Lots of goodies here.
