Sometimes we forget that there’s more to Mesoamerica than the Aztecs, which is why we need events much like this one: the Maya-Zapotec Cultural Encounter.
For one day, Plaza Olvera will convert itself into a home for learning and experiencing Maya, Zapotec and Central American cultures with food, music, folklore, art and more.
The event, which is presented by Centro Cultural Eek Mayab, Federacion Alianza de Clubes Yucatecos USA, Asociacion Oaxaqueña de Negocios and Centro Cultural Oaxaca USA, will feature appearances, talks and entertainment by Danza del Venado, Danza Zapoteca, Danza de la Pluma, Jorge Gamboa Patrón, Maya Priest Don Manuel Xicum, renowned author Marte Trejo Sandoval and much, much more.
